National Carpetball Association Endorsement

We had a goal to send a letter to the National Carpetball Association (Timothy Allen) by the end of April. Unfortunately, we were a couple of days late, but did finally send an email on May 2, 2014. After a day of nervous anticipation, we are very pleased to announce that the National Carpetball Association has accepted the Central Ohio Carpetball Society into the NCA family.

As members of the C.O.C.S., we believe that we have created something epic in our letter to the NCA:

Date: May 2, 2014
To: National Carpetball Association
Subject: Central Ohio Carpetball Society Charter Request

To: The National Carpetball Association Board Members (and honorees as dictated by the NCA President)

We, the founding members of the Central Ohio Carpetball Society (referred to hereafter simply as The C.O.C.S. as deemed appropriate), are interested in establishing the Central Ohio Carpetball Society as a chapter of the National Carpetball Association and request charter under the NCA. As a community-focused group of Carpetball enthusiasts, we believe that our goals and aspirations to bring the game of Carpetball to citizens, simpletons, and visitors of Central Ohio align perfectly with those of the NCA.

While The C.O.C.S. strives for local acceptance and fights to keep Carpetball a wholesome, moral sport, we need the support on a national level to keep our dream alive. We believe that we can do our part throughout Central Ohio and surrounding areas to bolster the work that the National Carpetball Association is performing nationally. This is the basis for our charter request.

Beyond any rules or competitive nature, we are in this for one and only one reason – sharing the fun of Carpetball; sharing this fun and excitement with everyone around us. At a backyard barbeque, we want Carpetball there. At a family get-together, we want Carpetball there. At a friendly argument over who gets to decide where to go for lunch, we want Carpetball there. Carpetball is the game that transcends every other sport in its ease of play and acceptance of all players.

Our love of Carpetball is never ending. With your backing and support, we will strive to bring Carpetball to everyone in Central Ohio and eventually…the World. There is no limit to what we can accomplish when we all work together as one.

This is who we are.

Love your site and your table. You have my blessing to join the NCA family.

Sincerely,
Tim
President of the National Carpetball Association

And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Thus begins the next chapter for the Central Ohio Carpetball Society.

Weekly Meeting Preview

The next Central Ohio Carpetball Society meeting is 4/9/2014.

Agenda

  • Discuss and document rules considered at last meeting and proposed over the past week
  • Add wheels and hinge to table (to be sourced prior to meeting)
  • Add permanent Penal Line that is currently marked with tape. Don’t worry, at some point we will create a glossary of C.O.C.S. recognized Carpetball terms.
  • Draft a letter to the National Carpetball Association to try to obtain official charter
    • Considering we are pretty sure the NCA is probably in all seriousness not a real thing, it won’t stop us from trying. 🙂
  • Gather empirical evidence (play Carpetball) to support or adjust physics in Carpetball 3d: The Game
